LOOM WEAVING WORKSHOP
Join us for this creative and relaxing workshop, exploring the world of loom weaving.
Your experienced tutor will guide you through the process of using a variety of different coloured and textured fibres to create your very own beautiful wall hanging.
During your day you will be shown how to set-up your loom and will learn techniques including; rya knots, fringing, soumak braid, looping and tabby weave. You will also be shown the process of finishing and removing your weave from your loom and how to attach it to a dowel ready for hanging.
Suitable for beginners, this workshop will start at 10.00am and conclude at 4.00pm. All of the materials and equipment needed to make your wall hanging will be provided, as will a workshop apron for you to wear during the day. As with all our day workshops, there will be a pause for lunch partway through the day, which is also provided.
The loom you use will be yours to keep so you can continue your weaving journey at home.
Places on this workshop are limited to 8.
