
Walking and Cycling
Pershore is renowned for its Georgian architecture and the Civic Society have produced a Town Walk which will help you find the most notable buildings. Alternatively you can book a guided tour through the Visitor Information Centre, where you can also pick up walking and cycling leaflets for Pershore, Evesham, Worcester and Malvern.
Pershore Bridges Circular Walk – a peaceful stretch of the River Avon is combined with a beautiful woodland to create this easy and enjoyable walk close to the Georgian town of Pershore. There are good views of Pershore and the surrounding countryside from the highest point of the walk. Nearby Eckington also has a very similar Bridge walk – leaflets detailing both routes can be found at the Visitor Information Centre.
Bredon Hill
Bredon Hill rises to 981 feet with a folly at the top taking the total height to 1000ft. It is one of the 176 classified Marilyn’s of England. Situated within sight of Pershore, Evesham and Tewkesbury it dominates the skyline from all approaches. Bredon Hill is dotted with standing stones, it has the remains of three Iron Age forts, a Norman castle, a holy well and a folly. A host of tales and folklore add further mystery. The hill has a variety of paths and trails that provide opportunities for circular walks. Maps can be obtained from Pershore Visitor Information Centre for a small fee.

Cycling
Pershore is on cycling route 442, situated between Worcester and Evesham. There are a number of cycle parking bays in Pershore. Please see our Transport page for further details. The three most popular circular cycling routes through our beautiful countryside are 8 miles long, 23 miles long and 52 miles long. For a hard copy of these maps, please pop into the Visitor Information Centre.
Pershore Leisure Centre
Pershore has a Sports & Leisure Centre with excellent facilities including a 25 metre Swimming Pool, Health Suite, Studio, Sports Hall, Solarium and Rivers Fitness Room with all the latest equipment. The Centre also offers a variety of classes and activities to suit all ages.




The River Avon
Adjacent to the Leisure Centre is King George’s Field which is the perfect spot for a picnic, leisurely riverside walk or to admire the impressive vessels. King George’s Field is equipped with a public football pitch and goal posts. Visit in summer when the river comes alive with raft and dragon boat racing. Pershore River Festival takes place in July and brings activities for all ages to the riverbank. It includes bell boating as well as stalls, fairground rides and musical entertainment and takes place from the Riverside Youth Centre along the river to Wyre Mill.
Take a few minutes to admire Princess Diana’s Garden before strolling onto the High Street.
For fishing enthusiasts, coarse fishing is available in King George’s Field, the Southern Meadow of Avon Meadows, Pershore Bridge and near the Leisure Centre. These sites are suitable for disabled, and toilets are close by.

There are so many attractions around the area for the whole family to enjoy. Whether your little ones love wildlife, are enthusiastic about trains or get giddy for a good park, there are so many things to do just a short drive away from Pershore.





The neighbouring towns and villages offer plenty more leisure activities. Whether you’re game for golf, have a passion for horse-riding or would enjoy walking with Alpacas, plenty of activities are at your fingertips. You will also find links here to Cheltenham Racecourse and Worcester Racecourse – both within a short distance of Pershore, and Three Counties Showground, situated in Malvern, all three of which host a variety of events on a regular basis.
