Walking and Cycling

Pershore is renowned for its Georgian architecture and the Civic Society have produced a Town Walk which will help you find the most notable buildings. Alternatively you can book a guided tour through the Visitor Information Centre, where you can also pick up walking and cycling leaflets for Pershore, Evesham, Worcester and Malvern.

Pershore Bridges Circular Walk – a peaceful stretch of the River Avon is combined with a beautiful woodland to create this easy and enjoyable walk close to the Georgian town of Pershore. There are good views of Pershore and the surrounding countryside from the highest point of the walk. Nearby Eckington also has a very similar Bridge walk – leaflets detailing both routes can be found at the Visitor Information Centre.

Watersports

Situated behind Pershore Riverside Centre is Bonkers Activities – Paddleboard Centre. The launch area – with purpose built low level pontoon, is perfect. Bonkers chose this site many years ago for lots of reasons. The centre also has its own back field (where you can park close to the river). It is very sheltered from the wind, which is so important for paddleboarding. It is the most beautiful section of the river with loads to see and has the most amazing wildlife; herons, cormorants, kingfishers and so much more to give you the the best possible all round recreational experience.

Other Stand Up Paddleboarding sites near to Pershore include Wittering SUP in Defford and Aztec Watersports in Lower Moor.

Out in the gorgeous Cotswolds sits the Cotswold Water Park; an area of over 40 square miles and 180 lakes, with many different leisure providers, and a variety of places to stay. This stunning wetlands landscape hosts tens of thousands of breeding and watering birds and is an ideal destination for watching wildlife all year round.

King George’s Field is equipped with a public football pitch and goal posts. Visit in summer when the river comes alive with raft and dragon boat racing. Pershore River Festival takes place in July and brings activities for all ages to the riverbank. It includes bell boating as well as stalls, fairground rides and musical entertainment and takes place from the Riverside Youth Centre along the river to Wyre Mill.
Take a few minutes to admire Princess Diana’s Garden before strolling onto the High Street.
For fishing enthusiasts, coarse fishing is available in King George’s Field, the Southern Meadow of Avon Meadows, Pershore Bridge and near the Leisure Centre. These sites are suitable for disabled, and toilets are close by.
