Learn to quilt - Sample Blocks Part 2, Nellies Fabric Shop, Pershore

Learn to Quilt one block at a time! Learn to Quilt is a continuation of the Part 1 course. You will need to have been on part 1 before booking part 2. A 6 week continuation course Learning the fundamentals of Quilting and Patchwork. Over the course of the six weeks you will learn more techniques whilst creating another 6 different blocks for you to add to the blocks made in part 1 ready to make into a sample lap quilt to take home at the end of the course. Week one Look at choosing suitable fabrics, how to select colours and tones of fabrics using the colour wheel. How to mix the various prints and designing your blocks. How to measure and cut fabric pieces for patchwork safely and accurately using a rotary cutter, cutting mat and quilting rulers. Week One to Five Block making, Make a different block each week to learn new techniques. Week Six Piece the sample blocks together and make a quilt sandwich. Quilt and bind your Sample quilt. Should you wish to make an additional 6 blocks and create a sample Quilt instead of a table runner you can continue making more block designs in Learn to Quilt – Sample Blocks Part 2 to add to those made during Part 1 and make up the sample quilt at the end of Part 2. What’s Included Tuition and Full Instructions Wadding Notions Use of equipment Tea, Coffee and biscuits. You will need. Fabric (10% discount on fabrics purchased from us for use on the workshop). Suitable for those who are familiar with threading a machine, winding a bobbin, changing stitch settings and are able to sew in a straight line. Or have attended the Beginners machine sewing course.
